Our Teaching Model: Working Mathematically

Students often struggle in selective maths because they don’t use a Working Mathematically approach, which focuses on logical reasoning and problem-solving. Our content aligns with the NSW curriculum’s Working Mathematically principles, helping students develop these skills and maximise their potential for success in the selective test.

  1. Students learn to Analyse questions, Identify relevant information, and Apply logical reasoning to solve complex, multi-step problems.

  2. Encourages Logical and Reflective Thinking by testing observations, evaluating solutions, and reflecting on their methods, students build a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and strategies.

  3. Moves Beyond Rote Learning enabling students to tackle unfamiliar questions by thinking flexibly, choosing efficient methods, and justifying their reasoning.
